Meet Joseph: Head of Security
Joseph was our first rooster and Head of Security for two years, the crow you heard across the pasture.
Every farm needs a character. Ours was Joseph, Head of Security, early riser, and the crow you heard across the pasture.
He took predator watch seriously and kept the hens moving with a confidence you can't teach. The Beard backed him up on perimeter patrol.
More than a mascot
A good rooster is part of a healthy free-range system. Joseph helped organize the flock and sounded off when something was wrong, which is why guests remembered him long after they left with a dozen eggs.
Joseph passed away in August 2026. Stripe and Armani now handle security. Read our tribute to Joey, the rooster we knew as Joseph: Remembering Joey.
