Ninja has taken to mothering in the corner of the plywood nest box. Her copper Marans chicks hatched in late August 2026 and are still small, downy, and tucked close to her on the straw.
She stands watch while they peck and settle in. Quiet scene — exactly what you want to see after a hatch.
